What is Reiki Healing and how does it work?
Reiki is a powerful healing technique that treats the entire body, the mind, body and soul. It works by expanding the chakras and aura. Reiki is strong yet gentle, healing the entire person including Spiritual, Emotional, Mental and Physical bodies.
A Reiki treatment has beneficial effects. These include feelings of security, peace and rejuvenation. Reiki healing releases blockages and tension which have accumulated over time within the body. If our “life force energy” is diminished, we’re prone to illness, depression and anxiety. During Reiki, we’re in we are in meditative, relaxed state, as light energy is being channeled into the body. We become aware of situations that have caused us pain, anxiety or insecurity. We then develop an understanding of how these memories have held us back in our lives.
Through this Reiki energy transfer, we can get to the root of the problem. We can then clear energy blockages within the body and aura that are preventing us from having fulfilling lives. This then restores the equilibrium, bringing balance to the person’s life. We can then transcend negative emotions like pain, guilt and anger. Reiki healing consequently realigns us to our true path.
Where does Reiki energy come from?
Reiki energy comes from Source or a higher vibration, which exits in a higher dimension than the earthly vibration. Reiki healing energy enters the therapists body from above and flows out of their hands into the clients body. Therefore, what makes Reiki healing quite unique is that the practitioner does not use their own personal energy during the healing session. This would deplete the practitioners energy needed for their own health and life. A Reiki practitioner can therefore see several clients during the day and not become ‘drained’ of their own life-force.
How is a Reiki treatment given?
Firstly, the client generally lies down on a plinth or massage table while the practitioner is seated or standing. The practitioner may use white sage to cleanse the aura of the client before commencing. In a Reiki treatment, the Reiki energy flows from the practitioners hands into the clients aura and body. There are a series of 10 hand positions where healing of the body and chakras takes place. However, more specific positions can be worked on dependent on the customers needs (eg. An injury). Each position is held depending on how much healing energy is needed to re-energize that area. The treatment lasts between 60 and 90 minutes
What does a Reiki treatment feel like?
What one encounters during a Reiki treatment varies from person to person. However, feelings of ‘peacefulness’, ‘joy’, ‘profound relaxation’ and ‘feeling light’ are generally expressed from clients after a Reiki healing session. Some even experience a wonderful luminescent energy flowing through and around them. During a Reiki treatment, clients release and let go of all tension, nervousness, anxiety and other negative emotions. Some even drift off to sleep., which is completely normal. Occasionally some report drifting beyond their bodies. Being ‘detached’ from their thoughts and emotions for that brief period while being enveloped by an all-encompassing light energy gives them a new, refreshed positive perspective.
